Project Highlights:
- Assessments activities at Southern California airports
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings
- Prepare public participation plans
- Prepare fact sheets for the public
EEC Environmental’s (EEC’s) environmental professionals performed site assessments, remedial feasibility studies, groundwater monitoring, remedial system operation and maintenance (O&M), human health risk assessments, and stakeholder and community engagement activities at two aircraft maintenance facilities. Field assessment activities included drilling soil borings and installing additional groundwater monitoring wells within passenger aircraft operating and maintenance areas.
Environmental activities required extensive stakeholder engagement, coordination, agency interaction and coordination with multiple commercial airline tenants to complete the assessment activities and not disrupt airport activities. Work included facilitating multiple pre-construction meetings with all parties, developing a public participation plan (PPP), and preparing public fact sheets for concerned environmental groups.
