USEPA announced June 15 surprising new PFAS drinking water health advisory levels. More information can be found here: https://www.epa.gov/system/files/documents/2022-06/drinking-water-ha-pfas-factsheet-communities.pdf
For PFOA and PFOS, the interim health advisory levels are:
- PFOA = 0.004 ng/L (ppt)
- PFOS = 0.02 ng/L (ppt)
These are orders of magnitude below previous advisory levels, and even current laboratory detection limits for these constituents.
EEC Environmental is tackling PFAS challenges for a variety of municipal and industrial clients throughout the US and is prepared to discuss how these new advisory levels may impact everyone. If you have any questions concerning these advisory levels or any PFAS-related issue, please contact EEC’s CEO and Principal Chemist John Shaffer at (714) 667-2300 or jshaffer@eecenvironmental.com
