Project Highlights:
- Review air emission and risk assessment calculations
- Review site assessment documentation
- Prepare community fact sheet
- Conduct student/parent meeting to discuss proposal remediation
EEC Environmental’s (EEC)Â community outreach team facilitated a public involvement program for a private school regarding an adjacent property that operated as a former dry cleaner, which was preparing to implement a site remediation system.
Due to concerns from the school, EEC evaluated an Air Quality Management District’s draft permit of a soil vapor extraction (SVE) system and documents from the RWQCB to ensure that the system was protective of student and staff health. the evaluation included reviewing engineering and risk assessment calculations to ensure effluent air quality was protective of the student population.
The program included the preparation of a fact sheet that provided information to parents and staff of the school and the facilitation of a community meeting for the parent/student body.
