EEC was contracted to perform site investigation activities and development of a soil management plan (SMP) for a large redevelopment project on a military installation in North Carolina. The size and scope of this project required a significant large amount of import fill material. Due to the association of PFAS with military facilities and airports, it was required that this import material be characterized for PFAS, among other constituents, before being brought on-base. EEC mobilized a field team to a remote portion of North Carolina to sample the import material at the site. EEC collected a representative number of samples consistent with EEC’s internal PFAS sampling SOP. All necessary precautions and QA/QC measures were properly implemented resulting in the collection of a legally defensible data set that met the requirements of the project.
